Luka Myles swallowed, and blinked back tears. What was this? She never cried. Her eyeliner was smudged from being rubbed by her hand. Her shoulder-length wavy brown hair was tied up in a ponytail - also something she never did. She walked down the hallway of the Hell's Pass Hospital.
"Excuse me, little girl, do you know where you're going?" A redhead nurse asked politely.
"Yeah." Luka replied blankly, continuing. She was looking for room 165 - the small box of a room that her father was in.
She blinked back more tears, hoping that no-one from school was here. She flicked the end of her white scarf over her shoulder, hiding the lower half of her face. Her dark brown eyes surveyed the numbers on the doors - untill she located the one that mattered. Luka pushed it open and stepped through. Her grip on the red cosmos flowers tightened as she saw her father lying on the bed with tubes stuck into him at all diferent angles.
"D-Dad, I-I'm here..." she stammered, rushing over to the side of his bed. Peter Myles had been in a savage car accident.
"Lukey, how is your mother?" he asked, with a weak smile.
Luka opened her mouth to reply, but choked on her words. Seeing him so pathetic made her throat dry up. She just nodded, and bit her lip. Don't cry Luka. Don't.
Peter chuckled, then coughed violently. "That's good. Dear, could you send your mother through for me? I love you, kiddo." he said, extending an arm to pat his daughter on the head.
"Okay Dad...." Luka whispered, placing the cosmos flowers on his chest, then running out of the room, her eyes stinging. He needs to see Mom. Everything will be okay when he sees Mom...
